Coming to us from a seller that had previously purchased this very nice 1985 GPZ900R from a 9R specialist. It has obviously had a vast amount spent on it to be this good, he was told that 1000s had been spent restoring it but unfortunately, he had not got the invoices or receipts to prove it, so its down to using your eyes, but it is very plain to see.
On arrival with us, while we are very aware that these 9R engines are not the quietest, we were not happy with the cam chain noise so a new chain has been fitted. While in there we also checked the valve clearances, balanced the carbs and did an oil and filter change. So now running and riding well.
Cosmetically it is lovely, there is one very small scratch on top of the tank, caused by some careless person while it was on display at a bike meet. Easy enough to touch in, but if we do it we get accused of trying to hide something, so cant win! Bear in mind this bike is 41 years old and we are worrying about a scratch?
Anyway, if you are still reading this you don’t need me to tell you just how good these bikes are and that they are now fast approaching cult status
